Let me start off by saying, I wanted Diaz to win. Ive always been a fan of Nick Diaz style and his personality makes me laugh. Ive always like Caondit as well. He always brings it and is an exciting fighter. I picked Diaz to win this fight.

  With that being said, Condit fought a great fight! Im reading a lot on the internet where people are saying he was running or he ruined what was supposed to be FOTY. Diaz is the best at closing guys off against the cage and landing hundreds of shots and smothering guys with punches. Why would Carlos say "ok, Im going to stand in one spot and throw punches with him and see if I can beat him where no one else has before." Im not expert of game plans but I think that was the only way to beat Diaz. Keep moving your feet. Land your shots and get out. Kick his legs and try and slow him down!

  Im all for a stand up brawl where 2 guys throw until someone drops but when a title (title shot) is on the line, you swallow your pride and fight smart. Fighting smart doesn't always mean boring. It means you fight to gain advantage where you see holes/weakness. The fight wasnt boring to me at all. It wasn't the most exciting fight I've ever seen but I enjoyed watching it. 

  Building a game plan and training that game plan for months is great an effective but being able to implement that game plan in a live fight is so much harder than people think. Ive gone into fights with a great game plan and as soon as the ref said "fight" it went out the door! It takes serious maturity, talent and heart to stick with a game plan when the fight gets tough. Its easier to say "screw it" and just start throwing bombs and playing your opponents game. To implement a game plan like that, you have to keep a level head, not get frustrated and trust that what your coaches came up with is the right decision.

  I dont like seeing people hate on fights like this. As I said before, I was pulling for Diaz and I really wanted to see Diaz vs GSP but Condit fought great and earned the title shot. Im done rambling for now!
